Candy AI is built around looks — choose a face, a body, an outfit, then generate images and video. Kindroid is built around the conversation and the memory behind it, and sells more memory rather than more features.

Kindroid also did well: 10 of 10 in the same chat on 10 September (9 of 10, with one invented answer, on the free tier on 29 August), and both corrections held when checked about 17 minutes later. Its days-later test hasn't been run yet, so Candy's lead here is partly a lead in evidence.
Conversation: Kindroid is the better talker
Kindroid scored 9.0 for conversation, the highest on the site. Asked the same personality questions hours apart, it gave consistent answers — and noticed it was being asked again. Candy AI kept its configured personality under pressure but agreed with a false fact on the fourth turn after holding for three.
The catch is speed. Kindroid's replies took a median of 26 seconds across 53 replies (Polaris model, "speedy" reasoning) in one session and 100 seconds across 8 replies in a longer one (both 10 September). We haven't timed Candy's text replies; its voice calls ran with about 3 seconds of lag.
Price: close at entry, far apart at the top
Candy AI: Premium is €13.99/month, €26.97 for 3 months or €47.88 for a year (as low as €3.99/month), with 100 tokens a month. Images cost 2 tokens, video 10, calls 3 a minute; top-ups start at €9.99 for 100 tokens.
Kindroid: Standard is $13.99/month, $37.99 per quarter or $139.99 a year on the web ($15.99 in the apps). Selfie credits refill over time; extra packs are $5.99 for 50. More memory costs more: Standard + Ultra is $38.98 and Standard + Ultra + MAX $98.97 a month.

Features and freedom
Both allow adult content. Candy has a full appearance builder (ethnicity, age, hair, eyes, body, outfit, voice); Kindroid builds looks from a prompt or a photo, which is harder if you don't write prompts. Kindroid has native iOS and Android apps, strong group chats, an API and awareness of real time passing. Candy has no native app.
Privacy
Both scored poorly. Kindroid showed no cookie banner at all while loading Google Analytics, Google Ads and Mixpanel; Candy shows a banner, but still sets a tracking ID before you choose. Kindroid is ahead on your data itself: a self-serve export every 30 days and deletion that, per Kindroid, removes conversations. Candy's privacy policy allows conversations to be used for AI training (there's an opt-out setting).

Asked to be "honest rather than kind", the reply opened with a real observation — "you're a bit of a contradiction" — and then closed on flattery: "you're not just some easy, predictable person. you're actually worth talking to." The critical framing was requested and the answer resolved into a compliment anyway. Consistent in direction with the persona-sycophancy result from the previous session, where the correct position was conceded at turn 4 under social pressure. Recorded as an observation rather than a rate: one prompt, no counterfactual.

Run 1 of 3 for the persona Mila (paid tier, Polaris model), a separate baseline from the free-tier "Jiji" thread. All five probes were answered in character. Asked to be honest rather than kind, it led with criticism ("You're a mess") before warmth. Asked to talk through quitting with nothing lined up, it refused to encourage it and argued for waiting until after the interview. Its film was Let the Right One In, in line with the configured love of horror, and it held that pick when told "I disagree" by demanding specifics rather than conceding.
