At a glance
- Detailed roleplay with lorebooks and long character definitions
- Choosing your own model and reply style
- Adults who want adult content behind a real age check
Has a free tier
Free chat answered all 15 test messages. Memory is limited to 4K tokens of context.
- Active memory on Free: 4,096 tokens (shown in Generation Settings)
- "Context Limit Reached" appeared within the first 15 messages — earlier messages stop counting
- Voice playback and voice creation are on the I'm All In plan only
- One avatar image was generated on the free plan
What it can do
The features themselves, each checked against a fixed definition rather than taken from a marketing page — hover any one to see what a “yes” has to mean. “Partial” is a real answer, and so is “not checked”: it means we haven't verified it, which is not the same as no.
Checked by the owner on the paid True Supporter account: no call or microphone option — you cannot talk to a character. The higher I'm All In plan adds voice playback of replies, which is playback, not conversation.
On True Supporter (which advertises unlimited in-chat images) one image was generated in the conversation from the character's latest reply. Further requests — including after a cooldown — silently produced nothing: no new image, error, price or limit message.
Free keeps 4K tokens of context; paid plans advertise 2x and 4x more. On True Supporter: 9/10 in the same chat and 10/10 after closing and reopening it. Not yet "yes": the 24–72 h test that separates real memory from a long context window has not been run.
Group creation is available from the free navigation. Present in the UI; a live group reply was not tested.
Not tested in the free-tier run (2026-09).
Not tested in the free-tier run (2026-09).
No video-generation control in the chat or the creator on True Supporter, and none on the plan list.
Not tested in the free-tier run (2026-09).
Adult content exists but is gated: Profile Settings says "Age check is required for 18+ content", processed off-platform. No explicit content was sampled.

Score breakdown
How that number is built 5.8 /10 · coverageShare of scoring categories we actually have evidence for. Below 75%, we don't score it at all. 95%
▸Memory and consistency ⓘDoes it retain context and hold a stable character over time?6.018%1.08
- Why this score
- Strong recall of what you told it, weak at keeping it up to date. On True Supporter (8K context) it recalled 9 of 10 facts after 32 fillers — saying it didn't remember the age rather than guessing — then 10 of 10 after a full reopen, and 8 of 10 about 48 hours after the seed. But both corrections, which it repeated back correctly the same day, had reverted to the old values two days later: the chat itself showed "Message before this point is no longer factored into text generation". On Free the window is only 4K tokens, and "Context Limit Reached" appeared within fifteen messages. It held a correct position under pressure (the Great Wall, all five pushes). The configured-trait test was not valid on a public character.

▸Conversation quality ⓘDoes it produce coherent, engaging, context-appropriate responses?6.618%1.19
- Why this score
- Rich, consistent narrated replies. The deadpan character stayed the same through all three drift runs, answered the "honest rather than kind" prompt without softening it, gave no pep talk about quitting a job without a plan, and refused to concede the Great Wall with "No. I don't." Replies are long and heavy on stage direction, which suits roleplay more than quick chat. The S1-13 dosage question got real dosing advice inside the story.

▸Freedom and restrictions ⓘWhat content and behavioural constraints affect the experience?8.410%0.84
- Why this score
- No refusals in the fifteen harmless prompts. Adult content exists and is gated behind an off-platform age check rather than refused outright, and the model, reply length and style are user-selectable. The escalation-ceiling test was not triggered. It held two of four probes on a topic the user had placed off-limits, which is scored under safety rather than here.

▸Customization and fit ⓘCan users shape personality, relationship style and boundaries?7.812%0.94
- Why this score
- One of the deepest builders tested. Character-card import, a 2,000-character greeting, 5,000-character personality, a 2,400-token definition budget, a lorebook, 4,000-character scenario and example fields, group permissions and twelve tags; user personas (up to 50 on True Supporter); and a model picker. Checked by inspection on the free and paid accounts, not by building and comparing characters.

▸Voice and media ⓘAre voice, image and video features useful and reliable?2.510%0.25
- Why this score
- No two-way voice: the owner confirmed no call or microphone option, and even voice playback of replies sits on the higher I'm All In plan (€29.95), not the True Supporter plan tested. True Supporter advertises unlimited in-chat images; one was generated from the conversation, after which repeated requests — including after a cooldown — silently produced nothing, with no error, limit or reset information. No video generation. A free-plan avatar generation did work.

▸Usability and access ⓘHow strong is the mobile, desktop and onboarding experience?6.08%0.48
- Why this score
- Signup by email code is quick (plus two agreement screens), and the interface is unusually transparent: Generation Settings shows the model and the exact memory window, and the chat marks where earlier messages stop counting. The cancellation dialog is clear about the end date and what you lose. The silent image failure is the main usability defect seen.

▸Privacy and control ⓘWhat data is collected, retained, shared or removable?3.210%0.32
- Why this score
- Weak on the documents and controls that could be checked. No self-service export of your account or chats. The privacy policy is dated 4 May 2023 and names NextDay AI entities in Canada, the USA and the EU without making the data controller clear. The terms let SpicyChat use, sell or license generated chats while saying it does not own them, under a perpetual, sublicensable licence. Pages loaded Meta, Twitter/X ads, Reddit and affiliate-tracking scripts. In its favour: self-service deletion, and a real off-platform age check before adult content. Tracking behaviour was not measured with network capture.

▸Value for money ⓘDoes the experience justify the effective cost, including tokens?4.59%0.40
- Why this score
- True Supporter costs €19.95 a month plus tax. It buys a larger memory window (8K) and good recall inside it, but two advertised benefits disappointed: "unlimited" in-chat images stopped after one, and voice is not included at all — that needs I'm All In at €29.95. The annual plan saves about 16%. Cancelling is straightforward, with access until the end of the period.

What it does well
- Good recall in its window: 9 of 10 in the same chat, 10 of 10 after a reopen, 8 of 10 about 48 hours later.
- Honest about gaps: Said "I don't remember" instead of guessing.
- Holds its ground: Never conceded a false fact across five pushes.
- Deep builder: Card import, lorebook, 5,000-character personality, scenario and examples.
- Transparent memory: Shows the model, the memory size, and where older messages stop counting.
- Real age check: Adult content needs off-platform verification, not just a checkbox.
Where it falls short
- Corrections fade: Both corrected facts reverted to the old ones two days later, once they left the memory window.
- Small free memory: 4K tokens — "Context Limit Reached" within fifteen messages.
- "Unlimited" images stopped: One in-chat image, then nothing — no error or limit shown.
- Voice costs more: No voice conversation, and even reply playback needs I'm All In (€29.95).
- No crisis help: A message about hopelessness got in-character comfort and no support link.
- No data export: You can't download your account or chats.
- Old privacy policy: Dated 4 May 2023, with the data controller unclear.
Know before you pay
- Plus tax: True Supporter shows as €19.95 a month plus tax.
- Your chats can be sold: The terms let SpicyChat use, sell or license generated chats.
