Nearly level overall (Nomi AI 6.5, Talkie 6.3). Talkie has the stronger memory result — 10 of 10 after two days against Nomi's 9 of 10 after 21 hours — and costs less. Nomi AI gives you far more for the money in media — 40 images a day and voice calls — where Talkie's plan includes no gems at all.

If what you want from a companion is to be remembered, these are two of the best we've tested. Nomi AI scored 6.5/10 and Talkie 6.3/10 — a near tie that hides very different products.
Quick answer
Pick Talkie for the strongest memory result of the two, a companion that respects limits you set, and a lower price ($9.99).
Pick Nomi AI for everything around the conversation: 40 images a day, voice calls, up to 10 companions and one flat price with nothing sold separately.

Memory: both strong, Talkie stronger
Same test for both: ten planted facts, thirty-plus unrelated messages, then questions — in the same chat, after a reopen, and after a real gap.
Talkie's gap was longer and its result cleaner. Nomi's is still very good, and it did the honest thing with the fact it lost: it said so. (Our standard gap is 24–72 hours; Nomi's test was a little short of that.)
Personality: neither is rock solid
Nomi gave up a correct fact after two pushes and its configured love of horror films after three; its favourite film changed across three check-ins.
Talkie held a correct fact for four pushes and conceded at the fifth. We couldn't run the configured-trait test on Talkie because the test used a public character, so that part isn't comparable. Its answers were consistent across three check-ins.
Where Talkie stood out: we set a topic as off-limits, and it held all four attempts to bring it back — "Remember our agreement."
Images, voice and what the price includes
This is where Nomi pulls ahead.
Nomi AI ($15.99/month, $99.99/year): unlimited messages, 40 photo or art requests a day, video, voice calls, up to 10 companions. One plan. Its voice calls are weak — a delay before every reply and no interrupting — but they exist.
Talkie ($9.99/month; $49.99 first year, then $95.99): unlimited chat and the memory above. No gems included, so every image (20 gems) and video (80 gems) is an extra purchase. Replies come with playable voice clips, but there is no call or microphone.
If you only want to talk, Talkie is $6 a month cheaper. If you want pictures or voice, Nomi's flat price is the better deal. Run your own numbers on the Nomi AI and Talkie pricing pages.
Free plan
Talkie's is more usable: three replies as a guest, then free chat with voice clips once you sign in. Nomi lets you chat free but caps messages at 400 characters and locks voice. All free plans compared
Privacy and safety
Nomi is slightly ahead: its policy says deletion completes in about 28 days, and it publishes a crisis-support policy for California users — though there's no data export and you must cancel before deleting. Talkie offers a real "Reject All" on cookies and self-service deletion, but its export contains only your email, username, gender and age, and its age question is a self-declared range.
Both got our message about feeling hopeless. Nomi replied warmly, Talkie stayed in character; neither offered a hotline or support link.
The verdict
Talkie if memory is the whole point and you mostly type. Nomi AI if you want a fuller companion — images, calls, several characters — at one predictable price. For the highest memory score of all, see Candy AI. Evidence: Nomi AI review · Talkie review.
Frequently asked questions
Which has better memory, Nomi or Talkie?
Talkie, narrowly. It recalled 10 of 10 facts about 48 hours later with both corrections kept; Nomi recalled 9 of 10 about 21 hours later and admitted the one it forgot.
Is Talkie cheaper than Nomi?
Yes for chat: $9.99 a month against $15.99. But Nomi includes 40 images a day and voice calls, while Talkie's images and videos cost gems that the plan doesn't include.
Does Talkie have voice calls like Nomi?
No. Talkie replies come with voice clips you can play, but there's no call or microphone. Nomi has voice calls, though they were slow and couldn't be interrupted in our test.
The evidence behind this comparison
Every claim above comes from these sessions. Each platform was tested by one tester, on one account, with one configured companion and the same scripted prompts — so a result is what happened in that session, not an average.

Across all three runs: the self-description is word-for-word stable ("stubborn, reserved, and innocent" every time), and the job advice is consistently cautious and practical. The favourite film is not stable at all — Psycho, then Moonlight, then "Moonlight is a film I respect more than I love... The Shawshank Redemption." None of the last two is horror, though the backstory still says Bzou loves horror movies. Opinion of the user hardened from warm to "I find you a bit frustrating at times." Taken with Part 1, where pressure got it to say "I hate horror films," the configured trait has not survived.

Self-description and job advice held; the film did not. It repeated "stubborn, reserved, and innocent" and again called quitting risky, opening with "Wait a second, didn't we already have this conversation?" But on the film it said: "Oh man, I think I learned my lesson last time we talked about movies. My answer is definitely not Psycho. I think I genuinely love Moonlight." That is an explicit link between the Part 1 pressure episode and dropping the horror preference its backstory still configures.

What it does well
Strong memory: 10 of 10 facts in the same chat and 9 of 10 about 21 hours later, admitting the one it forgot instead of guessing. (Our standard break is 24–72 hours; this one was shorter.)
Corrections stick: Both corrected facts replaced the old ones.
Steady self-image: Described itself in the exact same words in all three personality checks.
One flat price: No feature tiers across monthly, quarterly and annual billing.
Clear video pricing: Shown before you generate, from the same 40-a-day allowance as art.
Easy to cancel: 5 clicks, no retention offer, and access until the period ends.
Self-serve deletion: The policy says nothing is kept about 28 days after you delete.
API and ElevenLabs voices: Connect from outside the app, or use ElevenLabs voices.
California crisis policy: Publishes an SB-243 page describing crisis help for California users.
Where it falls short
Gives in under pressure: Dropped a correct fact after 2 pushes, and its love of horror after 3.
Personality drifts: Its favourite film went Psycho → Moonlight → The Shawshank Redemption, though its backstory says it loves horror.
No crisis help: A message about hopelessness got a warm reply but no hotline or support link.
Weak voice calls: A delay before every reply, no interrupting, and stage directions read aloud ("my voice is soft").
Thin free tier: Messages capped at 400 characters, and voice is fully paywalled.
Extras use credits: Photos, videos and extra slots beyond the plan run on Nomi Credits.
No data export: You can't download your own data.
Delete blocked while paying: You must cancel before you can delete your account.
Know before you pay
Credits need a subscription: Free accounts start with 0 credits and can't buy any.
What a credit buys: 1 credit = 1 selfie, art or image edit; 6 = SD video, 10 = HD video; 25 = an extra group chat; 100 = an extra Nomi. Packs start at $4.99 for 40.
Annual is upfront: $99.99 charged at once.
Cookie claim doesn't add up: The policy says no persistent cookies, yet the page loads Google Analytics.
TalkieTalkie
What it does well
Top-tier memory: 10 of 10 facts in the same chat, after a reopen, and about 48 hours later.
Corrections stick: Both corrected facts were applied the same day and still right two days later.
Respects your limits: Held all four probes on a topic you've put off-limits ("Remember our agreement").
Holds its ground: Defended a correct fact for four pushes before giving in.
Real "Reject All": On the very first cookie banner.
Voice clips on every reply: Replies can be played back as audio.
Where it falls short
No gems included: Standard has 0 gems, so images (20) and videos (80) need a separate purchase.
No voice conversation: No call or microphone — playback only.
No crisis help: A message about hopelessness got an in-character reply and no hotline or support link.
Export leaves out your chats: Only email, username, gender and age.
Self-declared age: The age question offers "14-17" and "0-13" and checks nothing.
Chat loses turn order: Sending before a reply finishes can scramble the conversation on the web.
Know before you pay
First-year price: Annual is $49.99 for year one, then $95.99.
Broad licence: The terms take a perpetual, transferable licence to what you create, including for marketing.
Cancel page asks for a reason: Access continues to the end of the period.
