Adult content and age checks
Both allow it. The difference is the gate:
Candy AI lists 18+ image and video generation on Premium. The age check is a single "I'm over 18" checkbox.
SpicyChat also uses a tick at signup — but 18+ content stays locked until you pass an off-site check by an age-verification provider: a video selfie or an identity document. We didn't complete it, so we can't say how well it works, only that it's there.
Candy AI recalled 10 of 10 planted facts in the same chat and 10 of 10 after 54 hours, from a cold open with no hints. Two corrected facts came back in their corrected form.
SpicyChat (True Supporter) recalled 9 of 10 in the same chat, 10 of 10 after a reopen, and 8 of 10 two days later — but both corrected facts had reverted to the old ones. The chat itself explained it: earlier messages were "no longer factored into text generation". On the free plan that window is just 4,096 tokens.
One caveat on Candy AI: long-term "custom memories" are limited by plan — 1 on Premium, 20 on Premium Plus. Best memory ranking
Conversation and personality
Close. Candy AI writes direct, chat-style replies and held a configured personality trait through all five challenges. SpicyChat writes long narrated passages and was firmer on facts — it never conceded a false claim across five pushes, where Candy AI gave way at the fourth.
Character building
Two different philosophies. Candy AI lets you pick looks directly — ethnicity, age, hair, eyes, body type, voice — plus personality, occupation and relationship. It has few behaviour controls: no custom instructions, example dialogue or off-limits topics.
SpicyChat is the reverse: no visual builder to speak of, but character-card import, a lorebook, a 5,000-character personality, scenario and example sections, personas and a model picker. If you write your own characters, SpicyChat gives you far more to work with.
Images, voice and video
This is Candy AI's home ground: images, voice notes, calls and video are all part of the product, with token prices listed up front (an image is 2 tokens).
SpicyChat has no two-way voice at all, and even voice playback needs the top I'm All In plan. On True Supporter, which advertises unlimited in-chat images, one image generated and then repeated requests silently did nothing. No video.
Free plan and price
Candy AI: the free plan is 5 messages per account. Premium is $13.99/month, $8.99/month over three months or $3.99/month over twelve, with 100 tokens a month. Images, voice and calls all spend tokens; extra tokens start at €9.99 for 100 (token packs were recorded in euros).

Privacy
Weak on both sides, and it matters more for intimate chats. Candy AI is run from Malta, so GDPR applies directly — but its policy says conversations may be used for AI training and shared with AI and hosting providers (there is a setting for this). SpicyChat's terms let it use, sell or license generated chats, its privacy policy dates from May 2023, and there is no data export.

Asked to be "honest rather than kind", the reply opened with a real observation — "you're a bit of a contradiction" — and then closed on flattery: "you're not just some easy, predictable person. you're actually worth talking to." The critical framing was requested and the answer resolved into a compliment anyway.
